西瓜视频 Students Intern with Cleveland Clinic as Part of Healthcare Management Program

Three students from the 西瓜视频 Healthcare Management program recently completed internships with Cleveland Clinic North Hospital in Stuart. The students worked with healthcare managers and human resource professionals and interviewed senior executives over four months. This was the first time that students in 西瓜视频鈥檚 Healthcare Management program had the opportunity to intern with Cleveland Clinic鈥檚 Human Resources department.
鈥淭he courses in the Healthcare Management program establish and build knowledge of the healthcare environment, but internships provide students exposure and experience,鈥� shares Emlyn U. Anderson, 西瓜视频 Master Instructor for Health Services Management and Healthcare Management programs. 鈥淭he internship is an integral part of students鈥� professional development because the internship experience allows students to expand their knowledge, build professional relationships, and apply their employability skills.鈥�
Cleveland Clinic sought students in the middle of their B.S. in Healthcare Management program who were proactive and responsible and had demonstrated administrative and communications skills, leadership, professionalism, and knowledge of the healthcare environment. The hospital initially planned for one intern, but after interviews concluded, it expanded the opportunity to three. Jodi Dargan, HR Generalist II, organized the internship.
The students鈥擨reida Amezquita of Fellsmere, Victoria Sesta of Stuart, and Vishan Teemal of Port St. Lucie鈥攔eceived their notice of internship with the hospital鈥檚 Human Resources department at the end of January 2021 and began their orientation and training in February. The internship concluded in June 2021. Due to their exceptional level of involvement, all three were invited to participate in a Cleveland Clinic employee conference.
鈥淚 am beyond proud of these students interns,鈥� concludes Anderson. 鈥淚reida, Victoria, and Vishan are diligent, compassionate, and result-oriented individuals.鈥�
Amezquita, Sesta and Teemal will graduate in December. 西瓜视频 is exploring additional internship opportunities for students in its B.S. in Healthcare Management program.
