Attention High School Seniors & High School Graduates: 西瓜视频 is now holding auditions for its performing arts scholarship programs. If you are interested in theatre, dance, instrumental music or vocal music, it is time to set up your audition. .

Cultural enrichment is a key facet of 西瓜视频 student life. Students are provided with a diverse array of lectures, symposia, workshops, performances and concerts in various intellectual and creative arenas.

2023鈥2024 Show Schedule Now Available!

Due to scheduling changes, the upcoming performances of Private Lives planned for April 25, 26, 27, and 28 have been canceled, and 西瓜视频 Performing Arts has rescheduled the performances of The Bard on Broadway: A Shakespearean Cabaret to include this incredible show in our Season Subscription. We encourage our patrons to contact the 西瓜视频 box office at boxoffice@irsc.edu or 1-800-220-9915 and exchange tickets to Private Lives for The Bard on Broadway now showing Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m.

Bard on Broadway: A Shakespearean Cabaret is an exciting combination of our traditional summer cabaret and Summer ShakesPierce programs. Patrons will enjoy song and dance from Broadway musicals adapted from Shakespeare鈥檚 works with live band accompaniment. The show will include songs from West Side Story, The Lion King and Kiss Me, Kate鈥攁s well as scenes from the original Shakespearian plays upon which they鈥檙e based.

Theatres

The 西瓜视频 Fine Arts Center features the 639-seat McAlpin Fine Arts Theatre, the 100-seat Wynne Black Box Theatre, Fee Dance Studio, classrooms and rehearsal rooms, emphasizing 西瓜视频's commitment to the development of a well-rounded student.

A regular schedule of live shows is presented by students in the 西瓜视频 Theatre program, the student song and dance troupe 鈥淐ompany,鈥 as well as the Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble and College Chorale.

Students interested in pursuing a degree in Theatre, Music or Dance should contact the Performing Arts Department at 772-462-7727 prior to registering for classes to determine audition requirements and to learn about possible scholarship opportunities.

Hallstrom Planetarium

The state-of-the-art Hallstrom Planetarium offers lectures and shows about planets, constellations and stars. Planetarium shows are live multimedia presentations that use special-effect projectors to tell stories about the planets and stars. Seventy-one reclining seats with headrests allow visitors to view the heavens from the comfort of armchairs.
